Our Mandate
The Directorate of Dispute Prevention and Resolution (DDPR) is a semi-autonomous and a juristic person (tribunal) that was established by Section 46B, of the Labour Code (Amendment) Act 2000, and continues in existence under Section 34 of the Labour Act 3 2024
- Resolve labour disputes and unfair labour disputes through conciliation and arbitration

Advise the Government, employers, employer's organisations, workers and trade unions, on the prevention and resolution of disputes
- To award costs in frivolous cases
- To accredit bargaining council arbitrators
- Compile and publish
- Information relating to its activities;
- Statistics on dispute prevention and resolution and significant arbitration awards.”
The DDPR became operational from 16th January 2002.
